How Oncera Works
Oncera runs inside Discord. You choose the server, invite the bot, configure what it knows and where it should respond, then let members ask questions in the channels they already use.
Before you start
- A Discord server where you have Administrator or Manage Server permission.
- A plan for that server. Each subscription covers one server.
- A text channel to use as the FAQ and knowledge channel.
- The support roles the assistant should ping when a human is needed.
- A decision about which channels should answer every question and which should stay quiet.
Step 1: Create your account and choose a plan
Sign up with Discord or email, then choose the plan that matches your expected question volume. The checkout screen shows the current price and limits before you pay.
Each plan covers one Discord server. You can add another subscription later if you run another community.
Step 2: Choose the server and invite the bot
Pick the Discord server in the dashboard, then use the install button to add Oncera. Discord shows the permissions before you approve the invite.
The invite requests Administrator so the bot can create ticket categories, channels and permission overwrites without a second trip through Discord's permission screen. Review the request in Discord before accepting it.
Step 3: Configure the assistant
Give the assistant a name and a tone that fits your community. Add custom instructions for the answers you want it to prioritise, and choose automatic language matching, English or Hinglish.
Trigger words let members call the assistant in normal channels without mentioning it every time. Keep the list short and specific to your community.
Step 4: Assign knowledge and channels
Assign one text channel as the FAQ and knowledge source. Put the questions and answers members actually ask into that channel, one topic per message where possible.
Then map your channels: support for full answering, normal for mention or trigger-word replies, media-only or no-media for media rules, ignored for channels the assistant should not touch, and tickets for escalation.
Set the support and human-support roles. These are the people Oncera pings when it hands a conversation over.
Step 5: Test and go live
Ask a few real questions in a test channel. Check that the answer uses your knowledge, that a mention works in a normal channel, and that an unknown question reaches a human instead of producing a confident guess.
When the behaviour looks right, enable the assistant for the channels your members already use. You can keep iterating from the dashboard after launch.
Step 6: Review and improve
Use the dashboard to review usage and the knowledge your assistant is working from. Add answers for questions that repeat, remove outdated notes and adjust channel roles as the community changes.
Changes usually reach Discord within about a minute. That is a typical update time, not an uptime guarantee.
